In an interview made by Uncube magazine. The architectural photographer Andreas Gehrke. Explains the difficulties and inspirations to his photography.

An interview being spread over a dozen questions asking intriguing questions on the photographers opinion and how modern day photography effect him on a personal note. Andreas Gherke explains that capturing images of buildings is the same concept in capturing landscapes or portraiture. After all architecture photography is , on a second note making portraits of buildings. Growing up in a city in Berlin he was always inspired by his surroundings. Stating that that’s how photographers are.

Due to the huge changes photography has undergone in the last years. Together with publishing and printing, Gehrke states this specific type and niche of photography will be lost . For all the artificial elements being used to re-establish and build a relationship with the medium.

Uncube Magazine asks what Gehrke thinks of earning a living out of this business of architecture photography. Replying that  is it hard at times, but like any other profession the market at present days is so saturated that he would not consider switching roles or professions, rather sticking to the profession he loves best.    

Questioned whether the ever changing reach of smart phones with good cameras will effect professional photography, and gradually kill this profession. Andreas Gehrke, replies that it is always the person behind the camera that counts. This will make the difference in producing a relatively good respectable image to an image that has been given thought and understanding. Getting the interaction with the Medium.

Concluding his interview he explains how inspirations and people he admires are photographers like  August Sander, Richard Avedon.
